Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly File For Divorce
Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly have filed for divorce, according to the Associated Press. In a joint statement shared by the AP, Musgraves and Kelly said “we’ve made this painful decision together.” They got married in 2017.
“With heavy but hopeful hearts we wanted to put our own thoughts into the air about what’s happening. These kinds of announcements are always met with scrutiny and speculation and we want to stop that before it even starts. We believe that we were put into each other’s lives for a divine reason and have both changed each other infinitely for the better. The love we have for each other goes far beyond the relationship we’ve shared as husband and wife. It’s a soul connection that can never be erased,” the statement read.
Musgraves – best known for her massive hits “Follow Your Arrow” and “Space Cowboy” – had a big couple of really good years going. She won the 2019 CMA Video of the Year award; had a fantastic Christmas special on Amazon Prime; was on the “Frozen 2” soundtrack; had an amazing new version of “Neon Moon” with Brooks & Dunn; oh and happened to win the biggest award in music in 2019, the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
The announcement is right on the heels of a couple other big country couples announcing their splits. Carly Pearce and Michael Ray announced they were splitting, and Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock.
