Lindsay Ell: ‘I Will Stand Up For What I Believe In’
Lindsay Ell releases her new Heart Theory album on Friday (8/14) and she’s been on Zoom calls and phone interviews for days promoting the new work, which features her new single “Want Me Back” she co-wrote with Kane Brown.
Lindsay, like so many around the country, walked in protest a few months back for the Black Lives Matter movement in Nashville and shares her thoughts and beliefs on her socials with fans even though she has lost followers for it.
She told us, “I feel like there are certain times in our world when it is even raised further than a political issue, it’s not a left and right thing, it’s a humanity thing. And as we’ve seen over the past few months Black Lives Matter and we need to as human beings learn to love other human beings on a deeper level on this planet.”
Ell adds, “And anything that talks about that I will definitely be prepared to stand up and talk about. Even though when I did post pictures of going to a march, I mean, thousands and thousands and thousands of followers were just falling off and it’s like, ‘Okay.’ It’s the time we’re in in our world right now and I will stand up for what I believe in. It’s not a political thing for me; it’s about loving each other.”
