Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde, and Cody Johnson Are Early CMA Winners
Two early winners were announced for tonight’s CMA Awards on Good Morning America this morning (11/9) ahead of the 56th Annual CMA Awards tonight. GMA’s Will Reeve was in Nashville and live outside the Bridge Stone Arena; he announced the winners of the Music Video Of The Year and Musical Event of The Year.
Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde’s “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” won Musical Event, and Cody Johnson’s “‘Til You Can’t” won for Video of the Year.
Carly already posted to Instagram about her win, writing, “WOWWWW what a way to start #cmaawards day!!! This song means everything to me & seeing the life it has had this year has been so rewarding. Thank you, @cma, for this. MUSICAL EVENT OF THE YEAR!!!”
The CMA responded to her post with “Congratulations!!!” Lindsay Ell also responded to her friends winning, saying, “Ahhhh, CONGRATS!!!!!” A fan commented, “YESSSS! Such a powerful song!”
Ashley McBryde also commented on the CMA win on Instagram. She wrote, “I woke up to a text from Carly this morning. HOT DAMN!! That’s a helluva way to start the day! Happy CMA day y’all!! Let’s gooo!!!!”
Carly responded to the post with four red heart emojis.
