Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne, More to Pay Tribute Leslie Jordan
Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne, Billy Strings, Eddie Vedder, Lukas Nelson, and Brittney Spencer will come together on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry for “Reportin’ for Duty: A Tribute to Leslie Jordan” on February 19 in Nashville. Jordan died October 24 at the age of 67 from injuries suffered in a Los Angeles car accident.
Also making appearances at the event are Jim Parsons, Anthony Mason, Mayim Bialik, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield, Margaret Cho, Robyn Schall, and Leanne Morgan. As a cause close to Jordan’s heart, all proceeds from the event will benefit the EB Research Partnership, the largest global organization dedicated to funding research to treat and cure Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
“Reportin’ for Duty,” according to The Opry organizers, is intended to be “an intimate collection of performances and on-stage storytelling with insights into some of Jordan’s lasting lessons of a life well lived.” Tickets go on sale Thursday (January 12) at 10 am CST through this link.
The Grand Ole Opry posted a sweet video of Jordan backstage at the Opry and standing in the circle on their Instagram. They wrote, “Reportin’ For Duty: A Tribute to @thelesliejordan will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House on February 19, 2023. Leslie loved the Opry, and we loved him right back. We were honored to share these special moments with Leslie and look forward to welcoming his friends for a heartfelt evening honoring him. On January 13 at 10 am, tickets are on sale on Opry.com and Ryman.com, and all proceeds from the event will benefit @ebresearch.”
Dolly Parton made a special appearance on the Fox TV Show Call Me Kat last week (1/5) to honor Jordan. After the episode, Parton said in part in a video message, “Everybody loved you, but I doubt that many of them loved you more than I did. Anyhow, I just want you to know that we all love you, we all miss you, and I bet you’re having a big laugh about all of us being sad and sorrowful, and I know that would the last thing you would want us to be. So, anyway, you made us happy while you were here, and we are happy you are at peace, and I just want you to know that I (starts singing) will always love you.” She then blows kisses and says, “Goodbye, my sweet Leslie.”
