Garth Brooks Plans On Going 24 Hours For Vegas Rehearsal
Now that his co-hosting of the ACM Awards is behind him, Garth Brooks has set his sights on his Las Vegas residency “Plus One” at Caesars Palace. He will be playing a 27-show headlining gig extending into next year. The first show is Thursday (5/18).
As he preps for the Vegas gig, Garth said on Studio G last night (5/15), “We’ll go in for rehearsals Wednesday. We’ll tear that thing – we’ll put it upside down. We’ll be there 24 straight hours – just kind of watch it, see it, piecin’ it, getting it ready.”
He added, “And then the second the show starts, everything will start changing anyway.”
Brooks said that “Plus ONE” will vary night after night, saying that the change might be from a band member (or members), his wife Trisha Yearwood, another musical friend (or friends), or even the audience itself, guaranteeing unique experiences for anyone who attends.
2024 dates and ticket sales dates are expected to be announced soon.
RELATED: Garth Brooks Finds It Hard Not To Cry When Talking About Her
Last month (4/17), Garth joined Reba McEntire on TalkshopLive and Garth’s Studio G simultaneously. Reba announced her new book Not That Fancy, and Brooks, who wrote the book’s forward, interviewed her by asking questions of his own and sharing many submitted by fans.
The pair reminisced about the first time they met when she was already a headliner; he felt fortunate just to open for her. Reba recalled, “We were in Illinois working a fair, and my tour manager – he came to my dressing room, and he says, ‘Garth Brooks is opening the show tonight! You’re going to love him. That’s the first time we got to work together and when I met you.”
Garth remembers it well, too. He said, “I remember sittin’ off the side of the stage watching you go over rehearsal with your guys. I wore out more pencils and notebooks on your tour. You were going to the University of Reba, man!”
He added, “You’re the one that showed all of us that you could get out of Oklahoma and go follow country music and play it. You’ve just been a shining light for me.”
