North Carolina: Here Is How You Can See ‘Elf In Concert’

"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear," Will Ferrell says in the iconic holiday film Elf. Well, this season, North Carolina will get to do just that with Elf in Concert coming to town.

In fact, just a few days before Christmas, you can sing along with Buddy. On Friday, November 24, and Saturday, November 25, Elf In Concert will be performed at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte.

Then, three weeks later, the show heads to Greensboro. There, you can see Elf In Concert at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. These show dates are Friday, December 15, and Saturday, December 16.

"This holiday season, relive this heartwarming holiday classic on a giant screen as every note of John Debney’s wonderful score is played live to the motion picture," the Greensboro Symphony explains. Although Ferrell himself won't be there, all his favorite music will be, with the help of a full symphony orchestra.

"Experience the work of a maestro (Debney) who's been honored with multiple Emmy and Academy Award nominations," Elf in Concert states.  Furthermore, all of the infamous jingles accompanying Buddy on his journey from the North Pole to New York City to find his family will be part of the concert experience.

Both Charlotte shows start at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $58 (day two) and $75 (day one). For Greensboro, the shows are also at 7:30 pm. These tickets start at $46.

This unique holiday show follows a touring model. Elf In Concert will also be performed in North Charleston, South Carolina, Norfolk Virginia, and Richmond, Virginia in the southeast region. Accordingly, the tour officially kicks off on November 17 in Oklahoma City. Tickets are on sale now.

The Elf soundtrack consists of 12 songs. These include holiday classics such as "Sleigh Ride" by Ella Fitzgerald and Eddy Arnold's version of  "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town."

It's never too early to start planning an exciting winter getaway, especially since the most popular winter vacation spots get booked up quickly. The good news, though, is that most people take vacations in the summer, so traveling in the winter can be a bit more relaxing. Of course, those who live in the northern parts of America love to go to a warm spot and get away from their daily lives filled with snow and ice.

I'm a Michigan girl, so I'm very familiar with the cold and ice in the winter. Not that I like it. Each year, I say I'm going to escape, even if it's just for a few days, to a warmer location. I know what you're thinking. Why go to Michigan in the winter? Well, if you love snow, then it's worth the trip. Traverse City, Michigan, is a quaint town, but it's big enough to have lots of things to do and places to stay. It's also cold in the winter but not as cold as, say the Dakotas.
