David Raybin, a Nashville-based criminal defense attorney and legal expert, told People that while the country star could face up to six years in prison because of the three counts, the chances of him being sentenced to the maximum and serving all of those sentences consecutively are “very remote.”

Ex’s Statement

She added, “I cannot speak on Morgan’s behalf, but I do pray the very best for him. Praying that this was just a slip-up and that he will return to the good path that he was on prior.”
Morgan dated Smith in 2016, and the couple got engaged at the time. It didn’t last long as they broke off their engagement, but they continued dating for a couple of more years. They welcomed their son in July 2020, after they’d broken up for good.
