Post Malone Sings A Garth Brooks Classic
Post Malone sings a Garth Brooks classic, “Friends In Low Places,” in a recording studio and posted the video clip to his Instagram. Posty struggles to hit the low notes but ends up hitting them and gets affirmation by a guy off-camera.
Posty captioned the post to his 25 million Instagram followers, “Think I’ll slip on down to the oasis:) @garthbrooks.”
Malone performed with Morgan Wallen and HARDY at the CMA Awards in November (11/8). After that, everyone speculated that the artist would be doing a country album soon.
Country Album
The star confirmed that he will be doing a country record. He mentioned it during a livestream chat with fans on his Twitch channel while he was playing Apex Legends. When asked about getting into the country genre, he said, “Country record is coming. I keep singing a song that we made while I was in Nashville. It’s so f——- sick, but it’s not out.”
Malone added that he is currently working on two albums but did not say if they were both country. He did say, “We made such sick music down in Nashville. It was so much fun.” Post Malone is a hip-hop artist, but he’s also recorded with rock artists and done a number of rock covers.
2023 CMA Performance
Speculation about his country album started after photos of himself with HARDY and Morgan Wallen in the studio began showing up on social media. After that the three performed a tribute to 1990s country star Joe Diffie at the CMAs. The performance saw Wallen and HARDY sing “John Deere Greene” before Post Malone joined them for “Pickup Man.”

In the video, Post is wearing a plaid brown coat and sitting on a chair with a cigarette in his hand, bobbing his head as the song plays. The lyrics say in part, “She’s searching for someone whose gonna give it back, and I ain’t got time for that.”
He captioned the post by tagging Luke @lukecombs.
Many of Post Malone’s 25 million followers on Instagram liked the post, including Combs. Fans were mixed about Post Malone going country, with some begging him to stay in his lane. One fan commented on all the feedback, writing, “What you all want is irrelevant. What matters is what he wants to do.” Another fan quipped, “This is country. Beyoncé can take notes.”
