Chris Young Reveals ‘I’m Really Happy’
Chris Young is in good shape physically, mentally, and musically. He’s releasing a new album this month, and he is keeping the sixty pounds he lost last year off with diet and exercise.
We talked to Chris recently, and he told us about getting fit. He said, “I don’t think you can pick the time when you’re gonna do that. It just happens. Until you are willing to let it change, it’s never gonna happen.”
He added what steered him in the right direction, “I saw a photo of myself at one point, and I was like, ‘I’m a little too big for my frame even though I’m six-four. I think this is a new season, and I’m the kind of person that works really well when they’re happy, and I’m really happy.”
The Shirtless Social Post
Around the time that he first lost the weight, he posted a shirtless photo that got a lot of attention from fans and foes alike. He told us why he posted it, saying, “Honestly, more than anything, being able to put that up there for anybody else that needs to field themselves a little bit. I don’t have a six-pack, but I can probably bench-press anybody over my head right now.”
He concluded, “If not now, then when?”

His New Album
Young is releasing a new song from his forthcoming album Young Love & Saturday Nights on Friday (3/8). The new song is called “What She Sees In Me.” Produced by Young and written by Young with Christian Davis Stalnecker, Kyle Fishman, Ray Fulcher, and Josh Hoge, the song is what he hopes will become a first-dance song for many couples at their wedding.
Chris will release an official music video for the new track also on Friday (3/8)
Young’s Young Love & Saturday Nights album will feature 18 songs. He told us in the name interview that the project is the result of countless writing and listening sessions. He is a writer on 15 of the album’s 18 songs and the sole producer of three songs. The project is Young’s first new album since 2021’s Famous Friends. The forthcoming record also includes previously released sides, “Right Now,” “Double Down,” “Looking For You,” and “All Dogs Go To Heaven.”
Chris’s Young Love & Saturday Nights will be released on March 22.
