Studio B Sessions: Tigirlily Gold Brings Girl Power to KML in Fayetteville

Never underestimate the power of two sisters who team up to bring great music to the world: Example of the day is from Tigirlily Gold, today's featured artist in the Studio B Sessions at KML in Fayetteville. Tigirlily Gold is a rising star sister duo out of North Dakota, who signed a record deal with Monument Records during the pandemic. If you're a TikTok user, and you like fun country music, you might very well have already heard from these incredible ladies, particularly with their upcoming radio single "Shoot Tequila." "We've been playing music together professionally for over 10 years," older sister Kendra said while outlining their path to Monument Records, a path that showed just how hard they had to work to make it in the industry. "We started playing down on Broadway (in Nashville), and grinding it out, writing music, meeting people and trying to get our foot into the industry door. "In the pandemic, we were shocked and got to sign a record deal with Monument Records." Kendra and Krista got to work with some of the best songwriters in Nashville, and released a 5-song EP with Monument in 2022. That included "Shoot Tequila," which releases to country radio in the beginning of March. "The response to this on social media has been incredible, with over like 32 million views," Kendra said. "It took off right away when we released it in January." And while releasing a drinking party song in the middle of the winter may seem counterintuitive, it worked out well for the duo. "We were nervous about releasing a song about tequila in January," Krista said. "But it turns out there's not a season for tequila. We're so excited about how well this has reached people everywhere immediately." With a full album coming later this year, there's a lot of great stuff coming from Tigirlily Gold. They played three songs for us here in Fayetteville, including "Shoot Tequila" and their emotional ballad "I Put a Ring On."
