Enigmatic hitmaker Post Malone brought his raucous F-1 Trillion Tour to North Carolina over the weekend. With seemingly endless energy and consistent charisma, Post performed a staggering 25-song set for a sold out crowd at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh.
The show opened with energetic performances from Dan Spencer and Alabama-based country band Muscadine Bloodline. The Raleigh crowd responded in kind, greeting both openers with bombastic enthusiasm through each set.
As energetic as the crowd already was, the entire venue went into an even greater frenzy once Post Malone hit the stage. The tattooed troubadour opened his F-1 Trillion Tour with a rousing rendition of “Wrong Ones“, which is the same song that opens the eponymous album.
As expected, Post performed nearly every single song from his debut country album, all backed by an extremely talented ensemble of fiddles, steel guitars and drums. While it was predominantly a country concert, Post also showed love to his previous hits across different genres. I never knew how much I needed a country-fied version of “Candy Paint” in my life, but Posty provided! And let’s face it, “I Fall Apart” was always meant to have a steel guitar.
The entire show was a welcome relief and escape for us here in North Carolina. Amidst the chaos and destruction throughout Western NC in the wake of Hurricane Helene, it felt comforting to find refuge in live music among fellow Carolinians.
This sentiment was not lost on Post Malone or either of the opening acts, with the former expressing deep love and concern for those who were affected by the hurricane. Muscadine Bloodline also pledged that proceeds from their merch sales that night would go to assist in disaster relief throughout WNC. As expected, this announcement elicited perhaps the loudest cheer of the entire night. The venue itself also collected supplies and donations from concert-goers hours before the show.
