The stage is nearly set for World Wrestling Entertainment's biggest show of the year, WrestleMania. But before we get to the showcase of the immortals, the superstars of WWE will battle within the fearsome confines of the Elimination Chamber! Who will walk out victorious on the last premium live event before 'Mania? As always, I have some thoughts.

Nowhere To Run, Nowhere To Hide

For over two decades, few match types have struck fear into the hearts of WWE wrestlers quite like the Elimination Chamber. Since its inception in 2002, many of the company's toughest competitors have walked through the chamber doors, and as you'll hear them attest, none have walked out the same.

For the uninitiated, the chamber is a large metal structure that surrounds the entire ring as well as the immediate ringside floor area. The walls are lined with miles of chain-linked steel and the chamber floors and the floor consists of little more than a metal grate with light padding underneath.

Inside the chamber are four pods that act as holding cells for four of the six wrestlers in the match. Two competitors will start the match, with a random pod door opening every 5 minutes to introduce another opponent into the match.

The match ends when all but one superstar have been pinned or made to submit. There are no disqualifications and wrestlers are not only allowed to use the chamber itself as a weapon, they're encouraged!

Yes, it's as brutal as it sounds. Even after undergoing cosmetic and structural changes over the years to ensure greater safety for the performers, the Elimination Chamber still remains one of the most intimidating and dangerous match types in all of wrestling.

This weekend six brave men and women will step foot inside the chamber and fight to stamp their ticket to WrestleMania. Who will emerge from the chamber with their hand held high?

The Rock Wants Cody Rhodes'...Soul?

So...we all saw that Rock promo right? On last week's episode of WWE SmackDown, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made an explosive return to announce that WrestleMania will return to the Superdome in New Orleans in 2026.

As exciting as that news was, it wasn't the only thing Rocky came to say. Soon after the announcement was made, the Final Boss turned his sights on his longtime rival, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

Despite a vicious, bloodthirsty feud on last year's road to WrestleMania, it seemed like Rhodes and Rock were on fairly good terms if the Netflix premiere of Raw back in January was to be believed. Rock congratulated Cody on his tremendous success since winning the highest prize in wrestling against Rock's cousin Roman Reigns.

This is where things took a strange turn. Rather than challenging Cody for the championship like many suspected he would do, Rock instead made a claim for Cody's...soul. Yes, his soul.

It was off-putting, cryptic, and, as the kids would say, "sus" to say the least. It seems that Rhodes has been given the opportunity to align himself with Rock, who also serves as one of the higher ups for WWE's parent company TKO. What all that entails remains a mystery, but Rock has given the champion until Elimination to make his final decision.

I can't do this segment justice through words alone. It truly has to be seen to be believed:

Since this isn't technically a match I'll go ahead and give my prediction here: I don't think Cody's taking the bait. As battle-worn and weary as Rhodes has shown himself to be as of late, I don't believe he'll sink to taking shortcuts by warming up to the brass.

Now, how will that affect his standing with the Final Boss moving ahead to 'Mania? I'll get to that soon...

Prediction Perfection

Against all odds, I actually managed to achieve 100% prediction perfection at last year's WWE Elimination Chamber event! With that kind of momentum working in my favor, I'm going to ride that wave to another flawless victory for this year's show as well.

Here are my picks for the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber!

Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens - Unsanctioned Match

My pick: Kevin Owens

Multi-volume scholarly articles could be written about the long, complex history between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. These two have fought against each other as much as they've fought alongside each other.

Unfortunately, however, it looks like their friendship is shattered beyond repair. After hitting his longtime friend with a deadly package piledriver, Kevin Owens has become crueler and more sadistic than ever. It's that very sadism that I believe will grant him the win in their upcoming unsanctioned match.

Kevin has shown time and time again what kind of depths he'll sink to in order to get what he wants. As much as I love Sami as a performer, I don't think he has it in him to follow Owens into those depths.

Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus vs. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae

My pick: Nia Jax and Candice LeRae

I've waxed poetic about Tiffany Stratton enough in past prediction posts so I won't belabor the point. As badly as I want her and a returning Trish Stratus to pick up the win and gain some momentum heading into her championship match against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, I don't believe we'll see that play out.

Speaking of Charlotte, she's actually the reason I believe Tiff and Trish will fall short. I foresee Flair coming out at some point in the match to throw her 'Mania opponent off her game and cost her team the match. I firmly believe Tiffy Time will strike again at WrestleMania, but that will not be the case this weekend in Toronto.

Women's Elimination Chamber - Naomi vs. Bayley vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Bianca Belair vs. Liv Morgan vs. Alexa Bliss

My pick: Bianca Belair

I'll admit it, I'm voting with my heart here. I've been clamoring for Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania ever since both of them made their main roster debut in 2020.

These two megastars have crossed paths throughout the years, most notably as the final two competitors of the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble match. But a match between those two on the grandest stage of them all, with championship gold on the line to boot? How can you pass that up?

Of course this is all predicated on Rhea successfully defending her championship against Iyo Sky on the upcoming episode of Raw, but I think that's a safe bet at this point. I've got the EST securing the win inside the chamber this weekend.

Men's Elimination Chamber - Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. Logan Paul vs. Seth Rollins vs. Damian Priest

My pick: CM Punk

I know, I know. Picking Punk to win has almost never worked out in my favor since his return in 2023. However, with the exception of maybe Seth Rollins, no one else in this match has more of a personal connection to Cody Rhodes than CM Punk.

The two go all the way back to their days on WWE's old developmental roster, where Punk promised the late great Dusty Rhodes that he would look out for his son in the cutthroat business of professional wrestling. But with the promise of a WrestleMania main event -- an accolade which has eluded Punk through his entire career -- on the horizon, what is Punk willing to do to secure that opportunity?

Why, sell out to the Rock of course!

Remember when I cast doubt that Cody will choose to become Rocky's champion and representative? This is why. I think Punk will be the one to take Rock up on his offer and strike a deal that won't be revealed until he and Rhodes are locked in battle at WrestleMania. Punk selling out and becoming a corporate shill would be a slap in the face of everything he's ever stood for, and the storytelling fan in me would be completely here for it.

And if Punk loses this match I may cool off on picking him for future matches, just sayin'.
