“Building A Stronger Community – TOGETHER”
United Way of Cumberland County’s Mission: To improve the quality of lives in Cumberland County by addressing critical human needs. United Way has served the community for 78 years and continues to explore new ways to provide resources that give families the tools they need to succeed. Each year, as a result of generous donations from the community, United Way fund programs that focus on health, education, financial stability. During the 2017 Annual Campaign, United Way will also add basic critical needs as a fourth focus area of funding. Last year, United Way funded 84 local programs and services that touched over 175,000 lives in Cumberland County. In order to identify the most critical needs in Cumberland County, United Way compiles a Needs Assessment, consisting of local surveys, focus groups, and research. The Needs Assessment continues to be a driving force behind United Way funding decisions. United Way also enlists volunteers to help evaluate and assess which programs should receive funding.
