A concert promoter in Florida is taking matters into his own hands to help get more people vaccinated in his community.

Per ABC News, Paul Williams of the Tampa Bay-based Leadfoot Promotions is offering two price points for a June 26 punk rock show at the VFW Post 39 in St. Petersburg, Fla. featuring the bill of Teenage Bottlerocket, MakeWar and Rutterki: $18 for those who are vaccinated and $999.99 for those who are unvaccinated.

Williams told ABC News, “I also wanted it to be a vaccine drive to get the fence-sitters off the fence. I wanted to get the kids that want to go to shows to go out and get their shots.”

While Williams has received a lot of support for his pricing decision, he said some anti-vaxxers have been hounding him after obtaining his phone number. Williams simply responded saying, “To care about people being safe is very bad apparently.”

Williams did reiterate that those unvaccinated individuals who buy tickets at full price will still be allowed entry and will then be “treated like everyone else” once inside the VFW Hall. However, no one has yet to purchase the $1,000 tickets.
