Dalton Dover Performs Spectacular ‘Don’t Close Your Eyes’ Cover in Fayetteville
In our must-watch moment of the week, rising country music star Dalton Dover gave us a treat at WKML’s Studio B Sessions in Fayetteville.
Dover, a Universal Music Nashville artist from Georgia, was a contestant on The Voice in 2019, as a member of Team Blake. And his bio for the show gives you a quick impression of just how much he’s had to overcome to get to this point in his career:
“Dalton always wanted to be a country singer as he was growing up. At 16, he had to drop out of school to support his pregnant girlfriend and their first child,” the bio reads. “After getting married, Dalton quickly became friends with his brother-in-law, Brandon, as they bonded over their love for country music and dreams of one day being country stars. In a sudden turn of events, Brandon was tragically killed in a car accident two years later. Dalton currently works in a poultry factory, but he gigs as much as he can. Dalton has come to “The Voice” to fulfill a promise he made to Brandon to always follow one’s dream.”
These days, Dalton Dover is making the rounds of country radio, as he gets ready for a new single release in February. He stopped by WKML’s Studio B for a performance this week, and it was his closing cover of the classic Keith Whitley hit “Don’t Close Your Eyes” that wowed us most.
