iPhones Will Soon Learn All Your Favorite Curse Words
If you were getting really “ducking” tired of autocorrect not learning who you are in your iPhone text messages, it appears Apple is fixing your problem.
Among the many new features and gadgets announced during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, improvements are coming to autocorrect that the company seems to suggest will include fixing those pesky curse words you keep messing up.
While the novelty fix of no longer have a “duck” invade your rage texts is a fun change, there were a lot of ACTUAL improvements laid out as well. These will be coming soon with the new iOS 17 release.
Among the other big new features, include a new Live Voicemail function.
The Live Voicemail will allow you to see text on your screen as someone leaves a voicemail for you. Then you can choose whether you’d like to interrupt and go ahead with answering the call. Think of it like an old-school answering machine that served as your call screener, but for the new age.
Other Cool iPhone Features
- Personalized contact posters will replace the boring old simple photo you have for someone as their contact. These are actually pretty cool;
- You can now leave audio or video “voicemails” on FaceTime;
- Search filters are now going to be available for Messages;
- A new Check-In feature that allows you to automatically alert someone when you’ve arrived safely somewhere (or if you haven’t);
- A contact sharing option that is MUCH easier with AirDrop;
- A new StandBy option that can turn your sideways iPhone into an alarm clock or other cool devices;
- As well as cool privacy improvements in Safari and much more.
“With iOS 17, we’ve made iPhone more personal and intuitive by deeply considering the features we all rely on every day,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. “Phone, FaceTime, and Messages are central to how we communicate, and this release is packed with updates we think our users are going to love. We’ve also reimagined AirDrop with new ways to share, autocorrect gets even better, and we’re introducing all-new experiences with Journal and StandBy, plus so much more. We can’t wait for everyone to try it.”
Among the coolest of the other features not mentioned above, will be a new app called Journal, that allows you to, well, journal. But instead of just writing your thoughts on a day, you can add your photo activity, maps, music and more. This will be a really cool way to capture memories, within the device you’re already logging key elements of in the first place.
For iPhone users, the new features for iOS 17 – including the much-needed autocorrect improvement, you’ll see this in the fall when it’s fully released.
