If you're looking for a last-minute Halloween costume, look to country music!

Halloween is almost, so it’s almost time to don your costume and get really spooky with it! But it doesn’t always have to be goblins, ghosts or ghouls. Sometimes the best costumes are based on your real-life hobbies and interests. This especially rings true for country music fans, as there are many country superstars with distinct styles and aesthetics to pull inspiration from for that last-minute costume.

According to Google Trends, the most popular costumes for the 2023 Halloween season include characters from popular movie and TV franchises like Barbie, Spider-Man, Wednesday Addams and Princess Peach. That was to be expected of course, but with so many people wearing the same costumes this year, don’t you want to stand out with a truly unique get-up? You can accomplish that by dressing like your favorite country stars!

Whether you’re a fan of classic country or if you dig the newer generation of twangy music-makers, there are quite a few standouts from every generation that you can emulate this Halloween season. The country genre is niche enough to ensure that you’ll have one of the most original costumes at your office Halloween party, and most country-fied costumes wouldn’t require much labor to piece together either. Hell, I can think of five artists you could pose as with just a cowboy hat alone.

So if you want to stand out with a costume for the spooky season and show love to your favorite genre of music, you might want to think about copping the look of some of these country stars!

  • Hardy

Hardy is a great choice for a unique, low-effort country themed costume. Frequently appearing at shows in a snapback and thick-rimmed glasses combo, the “Wait In The Truck” singer certainly has a distinct style that would be easy to mimic for the Halloween season.

  • Reba McEntire

One of the most famous redheads of all time! Reba’s style is absolutely unique enough for even casual country fans to instantly recognize. A Reba-inspired costume is perfect for the single moms who works two jobs, who loves their kids and never stops. Warning: this costume requires gentle hands and a heart of a fighter.

  • Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll is one of the most popular artists in the game right now. With his star quickly rising in the countrysphere, now is the perfect time for you to take on his eclectic and one-of-a-kind aesthetic. Time to go wild with the permanent marker tattoos and gold teeth!

  • Lainey Wilson

In addition to being one of the most talented and multi-faceted artists in country, Lainey Wilson may very well be the most fashionable as well. With her signature bell bottoms being a ubiquitous part of her regular ensemble, the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer is the perfect inspiration for fans of hers to draw from this Halloween season.

  • Willie Nelson

One of the pioneers of early outlaw country, Willie Nelson is known the world over for his timeless music and magnetic personality. And with his red bandana and impressively long braids, his look is easy enough to replicate while also being a memorable costume. No idea how to copy his reddened bloodshot eyes though. Nope, not a clue…

  • Dolly Parton

Her name is known the world over, her songs have stood the test of time, and her style is nothing short of iconic. If you haven’t considered going as Dolly freakin’ Parton for Halloween, are you even trying? Dolly has a vast selection of amazing outfits and hairstyles to choose from, which makes her the all-time perfect choice for anybody looking to wow a country crowd with their costume!
