Light snow is in the forecast late Friday into Saturday, as Fayetteville is now under a Winter Weather Advisory.

Well, it looks like Mother Nature is going to bring Fayetteville some winter weather once again, as our area is now under a Winter Weather Advisory, with light snow likely.

We’ve talked about it all week as a possibility, but as we said Thursday, things were looking a little dicey because of a whole series of craziness.

Those crazy events seem to be coming together to bring Fayetteville one more blast of winter weather, though this likely won’t be anything like last week.

Expect some rain, transitioning to snow likely after midnight Friday night into Saturday. You can also expect some nasty strong winds, along with extremely cold wind chills. Saturday isn’t going to be a fun play outside day, that’s for sure.

“A Winter Weather Advisory Has Been Issued for All of Central NC for tonight through early Saturday. The winter storm will bring Snow, Strong winds, and Cold Wind Chills!!!” Even the National Weather Service isn’t playing around on this one.

Most of North Carolina will see some impact from this storm, from the mountains to the coast. With the Sandhills seeing the brunt of the wind and cold, while the Piedmont will see the bulk of the snow.

Let’s take a look at Fayetteville in the Winter Weather Advisory issued this morning:

  • National Weather Service Raleigh Advisory

  • National Weather Service Wilmington Advisory

  • Snowfall Projections

  • At Least We Aren't Up North...

    BLIZZARD WARNING! Woh.

  • Stay With Us...

We’ll keep you updated all day as the weather situation develops. For now, check out all these great snow photos from last weekend!
