As Tuesday’s severe weather systems start to move out of Fayetteville and the Sandhills region, several school systems have announced delays to their Wednesday schedules.
With the status of many roadways unclear as high wind and rain has moved through the area in the dark, most school systems have elected to go with 2-hour delays, so busses can safely get students to their destinations.
Wind speeds gusted near 70 mph in Fayetteville Tuesday, and the region faced several Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. While no major damage has been reported, power outages and downed trees have been reported across the area.
We’ll update this post throughout the evening, as additional school systems report.
