Fort Bragg MWR announced the free concert on Monday in a Facebook post:
" “Every now and then when I get paid I gotta spoil my baby with an upgrade”
We are going to do it "Fancy Like" this year at the Fort Bragg 4th of July Celebration!
Proud to announce this year’s headline artist – Walker Hayes!
"
Hayes has skyrocketed to country music superstardom in the last year, thanks to his viral hit song "Fancy Like."
"Fancy Like" was Grammy nominated, after Hayes and his family made dancing videos on TikTok to the song, and it spread like wildfire. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard country charts, and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has been certified 3-times Platinum, with over 3,000,000 certified units.
Hayes had been around Nashville since 2005, with middling success. His latest single, "AA" is climbing the charts, recently peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot Country songs chart.
Fort Bragg MWR said the headliner will also be accompanied by a host of activities all day on Post.
"The annual Fort Bragg July 4th Celebration returns for 2022! This year's event will feature musical headliner Walker Hayes, as well as parachute free-fall demonstrations, our popular flag ceremony, fireworks presented by USAA and food and beverages."
The event is free, as always, and open to the public, but everyone will need gate access to get on Fort Bragg for Walker Hayes and all the rest of the festivities.
"Event is open to the public; gate access required. If you are a Non-DOD ID Card Holder, you must visit the Visitor Center located at the All American Gate to obtain gate access for the event. July 4th Celebration visitor passes may be granted up to 30 days in advance of the event."
