Happy Monday! It’s way too soon in the year for us to be having these Summer temperatures, but on the upside, it has put me in the mood to go kayaking at the lake! Nothing like a float day with good friends and good tunes!
So let’s start this playlist on a high note with the new Zac Brown Band song that has me craving for those hot Summer days on the water! Tie Up is the latest single from the band and is giving Doobie Brothers vibes and I don’t mind it. I even love the little barbershop quartet feeling of the breakdown towards the end of the song, highlighting the group’s awesome harmonies. Zac Brown Band is going out on tour with Kenny Chesney this year, and they are the perfect fit for the Kenny crowd. This song is sure to be a fun one to witness live!
Speaking of Kenny Chesney, Kenny dropped his latest album Born about a month ago and I’ve been spending a lot of time with it. I’m really happy with the sound he’s brought to this album. Few Good Stories is one track that stuck out to me right away upon first listen. It is one of those songs that deserves to be cranked up on a road trip with the windows down and the wind in your hair. Essentially, it’s all about living life to the fullest without regrets.
Lastly, Surprise surprise, another sad song from Megan Moroney! But we love our Emo Cowgirl! She does it so well. And dropping 28th of June was wanted and needed by her biggest fans. Megan does breakup and heartbreak songs so well. She always finds a way to put words to the emotions we’ve all been through. Love and loss go together like peas and carrots, don’t they?
