Here’s How The Latest Hurricane Florence Projection Affects The Fayetteville Area
It’s a new week and all eyes are on Hurricane Florence as it continues to churn towards the southeast.
Along the way, Florence has continued to intensify in strength, and is now a Category 4 storm.
The latest storm update shows Florence has shifted slightly, but the Carolinas are still expected to take a direct hit. The shift could be good news for Charlotte, as the area may only get 2-4 inches of rain, however, the Fayetteville area could see anywhere between 4 to 8 inches to 8 to 12 inches of rain. Catastrophic winds are expected to cause severe damage in areas such as Wilmington, Kinston, Jacksonville, Aurora, Morehead City, and other areas along the coast.
As the storm gets closer, it could continue to shift north, thus potentially reducing the amount of rainfall expected in our area.
If you haven’t already done so, gather supplies and devise an emergency plan.
