-Walk MS is Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Festival Park, 335 Ray Ave. Join other members of the community as they walk to end multiple sclerosis. There are 1-mile and 3-mile routes, which take walkers through downtown.

-N.C. Folk Arts Festival: May 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., downtown St. Pauls. Arts, crafts, pottery show and sale, music, food vendors, kids activities.

-The annual Fayetteville Beautiful citywide cleanup is scheduled for May 11. Residents who would like to take part in the campaign are asked to sign up at fayettevillebeautiful. com on the website’s interactive map. Look for “Citywide Cleanup Map” in red. Volunteers will meet at the entrance to Cross Creek Park on Green Street from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Orange bags, gloves and bottled water will be distributed.

-Mother’s Day carriage rides: The Cool Spring Downtown District will host horse-drawn carriage rides in honor of Mother’s Day on May 11 from 1 to 8 p.m. Rides will leave from 222 Hay St. and last about 20 minutes. Tickets for group rides are $15 per person or $10 for children 10 years old and younger. Private rides for two are available for $60. Call City Center Gallery & Books at 910-678-8899 for advance reservations. The rain date is May 12.

-Jared Sparks 8th annual Spring Festival Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 10am-2pm at Village Christian Academy, 908 S. McPherson Church Rd., Fayetteville, NC. This event is for the entire family. Food, Games, Bouncies & the famous Gift Basket raffle and more will be available. This is a FREE event - t-shirts will be sold. All proceeds go to help children and families affected by Autism

-Carvers Creek State Park is hosting a 2-mile dog jog Saturday at 9 a.m. at the park. Dogs must be on leashes. The fairgrounds are at Howell Street and Bragg Boulevard and are easy to access off the boulevard. The fair is open to the public.
