Why Are There Boots on a Fence on Some Farms?
We see many things while driving our country roads. Cows, horses, and tractors.
If you see a boot or boots on a fence post it should not be touched.
Ya see, boots are placed there to pay respect for a favorite horse or a ranch hand that has passed away or moved on.
This practice is nothing new, before telephones and electricity, farmers placed boots pointed toward the property’s gate, it meant the farmer was home.
I found these facts to be so interesting and there’s nothing better than learning from the past.
A big shout out to all the farmers for everything you do.
