An Emotional Visit for Sarah to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
This past weekend I had the pleasure of traveling over to Memphis, Tenn. for the annual Country Cares Seminar for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
It’s always an emotional few days. In so many ways it’s heartbreaking, uplifting, hopeful, touching, humbling… but more than anything it’s inspiring.
Over the course of a few days, hundreds of people from the country music industry including radio, artists, and executives tour the St. Jude campus, meet with patients and their families, learn about recent hospital developments and research advancements, and prepare for the best ways to pull off our St. Jude Radiothons. Ours will be coming up soon! And we’re so happy to play a part in this.
If there is one thing I want you to know, it is that these families are SO grateful to you for giving your hard earned money to St. Jude! Thanks to Partners In Hope like you, patients lives are forever changed. Families never have to pay a dime at St. Jude. Not for treatment, food, housing or transportation. Patients and families are taken care of FOR LIFE at St. Jude.
When on the St. Jude campus, you see it bustling with happy faces. Research facilities are active, nurses and doctors are eating lunch with patients, families are heading to housing, new apartments are being built, and the latest technology is being developed to help spread the message of all the good St. Jude is doing around the world!
You truly feel the presence of God at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Unconditional love, selfless service to others… THAT is the best way to describe this beautiful place.
I hope some day you make the decision to visit the hospital for a tour (yes it is open to the public, but make sure to plan your visit accordingly).
