Walk-On’s Restaurant in Fayetteville Shuts Down
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Fayetteville has permanently closed its doors, according to a sign posted on the door today.
The popular sports bar and cajun restaurant at 2116 Skibo Road had signs up that said in part, “We are writing to you with a heavy heart to announce that Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux at 2116 Skibo Rd has closed its doors for the last time.”
The restaurant, which was started in Baton Rouge, Louisana by a former walk-on basketball player at LSU, opened its Fayetteville location in 2019. It was the first location in North Carolina for the chain.
“Growing our presence in North Carolina is an exciting chapter for our growth story as we break into untapped markets with new franchise partners,” said Walk-On’s President & COO, Scott Taylor before the store opened.
Walk-On’s Menu
With Louisiana-based menu items, including crawfish and alligator dishes, the restaurant had been popular at times. A series of management changes had happened in recent years.
“We are sad to say goodbye to this location. Thank you for being part of our journey. We are forever grateful for the friendships and memories we have made together,” the sign on the door said.
The corporate website still showed the store open as of Wednesday afternoon. Calls to the store number still went to a menu, where any option just returned a busy signal. Calls to corporate communications offices were not returned.
The closest location to our area is in Wilmington, which was started under the same ownership group as the Fayetteville location.
