Fayetteville: Recapping Halloween Events This Weekend
Halloween this year falls on a Thursday. Kids need to go to school the next day, so staying up too late and really enjoying the holiday is not as easy as when it falls on the weekend.
A Halloween School Holiday?
Itās been in the news lately that parents in several cities have been trying to get Halloween pushed to the weekend or maybe making the day after Halloween a day off from school. School systems across the country arenāt budging, and kids still need to go to school on Friday, November 1.
So in Fayetteville, and most cities across the country, a lot of Halloween celebrations will be happening this weekend.
We wanted to recap some of the Halloween events that you can take the kids or adults to this weekend in the Fayetteville area.
Places To Take the Kids This Weekend
Halloween at the BOOtanical Garden: October 24-27, 2024 – This promises to be “an enchanting evening where famous artists emerge from the shadows to delight” with a night of creative wonder for all ages. Wander through the garden and encounter their Boo Crew dressed as iconic painters and sculptors who have stepped out of their masterpieces, ready to share spooky stories, hands-on art activities, and festive fun.
Zombie Walk: October 25, 2024 – This event features the best of Fayettevilleās visual and performing arts, live music, and street performers. Folks of all ages get a taste of Downtown Fayetteville’s dynamic arts and entertainment district while supporting local independent galleries, bistros, and shops full of unique goods and gifts.
Trick or Treat at The 1897 Poe House: October 26, 2024 – Location: The 1897 Poe House, which is part of the Museum of the Cape Fear. Children can trick-or-treat, receive treat bags, play games in the backyard, and ride hayrides. The cost is free. Note: The 1897 Poe House is not associated with the famous writer Edgar Allan Poe. The house is named after a local businessman who was born after Poe’s death.
Downtown Trick-or-Treat: October 31, 2024 – Bring your little ones to the annual Trick-or-Treating tradition in the heart of Fayetteville’s Historic District. Over 30 local shops in Downtown Fayetteville will welcome little witches, superheroes, princesses, and goblins. They will also have “Ride with the Count” during the Trick-or-Treat event.
Haunted Houses
Black Ops Paintball & Airsoft Zombie Hayride and Haunted House: Fridays and Saturdays in October – You will be riding a trailer with mounted paintball markers in a Call of Duty Zombie situation. No one will be shooting back at you, so safety equipment is not required.
