Good news for those of you interested in being in the buff: Fayetteville is one of the top cities in the country for naked gardening.
Now, before you start wondering who in the world would do that, keep in mind that there are enough people to do it that an entire rankings list was made for it. And if you’ll remember, we had a story about the best cities for naked biking. It’s a thing. In fact, World Naked Gardening DAY is a thing! It was on May 6.
And the good folks over at LawnStarter.com got their rankings in order this year for naked gardening. But what exactly makes a city good for naked gardening? Well, obviously you’ll want somewhere that’s friendly towards such things. And of course, there will need to be a natural level of gardening going on.
“We compared the 200 biggest U.S. cities based on nudist population size, indecent exposure laws, and, of course, gardener-friendliness,” Lawnstarter said in the report. “We also looked at weather forecasts, access to waxing salons, and sex offender listings, among 12 total metrics.”
Leading the way nationally was Miami, Florida. It makes sense. Miami scored well in friendliness toward the hobby, as well as local interest. It didn’t do so great on safety ranking, which takes into account things like sex offenders per 100,000 residents, etc.
Down at the bottom of the ranking, West Valley City, Utah is number 200. There are a lot of obvious reasons for that as well.
North Carolina fared quite well on the list, with six cities among the top 35 in the country for it. So let’s take a look at where Fayetteville and the rest of the state ranked in terms of best cities for naked gardening in 2023.
