We’ve reached the last Monday in January! Hooray! I feel like I’m in the movie Inception – it’s been a month inside a month inside a month! So let’s celebrate the fact that January is ending with another Monday Playlist!
First on tap, the new release from Kameron Marlowe and Ella Langley. Holy smokes! Our North Carolina native can SING! The much anticipated song is called Strangers. Kameron’s voice is stellar, and while that’s no surprise, he still blows me away with this performance. Ella’s voice perfectly intertwines with harmonies that itch the inside of your brain perfectly. Certain notes in this song were unexpected so upon first listen I felt like I was on a carnival ride – what twists and turns were coming next?? I ended up blasting this all weekend long and it’s a perfect song to add to your rotation!
Speaking of new releases, our Stars & Guitars artist Conner Smith dropped his debut album, Smoky Mountains! The entire album is so good, and I’m so proud of Conner and the work he’s put into this record. I have a few standout favorites upon first listen, so in this week’s version of my Monday Playlist I’m including Regret In The Morning. It details the decision of being respectful and to get to know someone because they’re worth that effort more than just a one-night-stand. I love the lyric, “I wanna be your rock when the world tries to break you.”
Last, I’m tying up this Monday Playlist with an upbeat throwback to 1996 and seven-year-old Sarah singing in her hairbrush to LeAnn Rimes! One Way Ticket (Because I Can) was my JAM! And still is! Sometimes we need a pick-me-up and a bit of nostalgia, especially on a January Monday morning. LeAnn’s voice just instantly takes me back to those innocent and carefree days of childhood. How can you not smile and dance to this song?
