Stars & Guitars 2023 Moment of the Night: 82nd Airborne Chorus Surprise Performance
There were so many incredible moments in our 2023 Stars & Guitars concert, but perhaps none more incredible than the 82nd Airborne Division All American Chorus’ surprise performance.
It’s really hard to keep secrets from everyone. Like really, really hard. But we wanted to have something up our sleeves to wow everyone with. So we reached out to our friends at Fort Liberty, and boy did they come through.
Quick backstory: The 82nd Airborne Division Chorus is well known in these parts, but they shot to massive national fame this year, after an awe-inspiring run to the finals on the hit NBC show “America’s Got Talent.” They didn’t win the title this year, but they won the hearts of the entire country.
We knew after their incredible television moment that we needed to have them at Stars & Guitars. A lot of planning has to happen to make those appearances happen. Lots of paperwork and approvals, and back and forth. But it all worked out perfectly.
With Elijah McCormick set for our National Anthem performance already, we asked the Chorus if they’d be willing to open us up with “God Bless America.” They didn’t hesitate, and it made for one of the most goosebump-enducing moments we’ve ever had on our stage.
So please, relive that moment with us below, as the 82nd Airborne Division All American Chorus performs “God Bless America” at Stars & Guitars 2023. Thank you to all of our brave men and women who serve, and a special thank you to the 82nd Chorus for sharing their talent with us this year.
