Florida Man Wins $1 Million on Scratch-Off Bought in Fayetteville
A Florida man is celebrating, after he landed a $1 million prize from a North Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off ticket he purchased in Fayetteville.
James Lind, from Fort Walton Beach, bought his $30 Millionaire Maker scratch-off at the Circle K on Yadkin Road in Fayetteville.
Lottery officials didn’t provide more information on Lind. But he did choose to take the lump sum payment on the ticket. That was a $600,000 prize, which after the required state and federal tax withholdings, left Lind with $427,509.
According to NC Lottery, there are still 15 of the original 60 $1 million prizes remaining on the Millionaire Maker tickets. There are also four $100,000, nine of the $20,000, and a whole bunch of other prizes. It currently has the best odds of winning $1 million of any of the current games being offered. Current odds are 1 in 359,698 of a $1 million prize.
There are three other $30 ticket games going on currently, with the $5,000,000 Ultimate, Fabulous Fortune and 200x The Cash games all available. There are four of the top $5 million prizes left in the Ultimate game. While there are none of the $3 million prizes left for Fabulous Fortunate, there are still two left of the 200x The Cash top prize of $5 million.
