Josh Turner Chats With Don Chase Before His First-Ever Show In Fayetteville
Josh Turner is coming to Fayetteville this Saturday night, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of “Long Black Train.” In anticipation of the show, Don Chase from The Big Wake Up on WKML talked with Josh about the show and his storied career.
Turner will play the Crown Theatre on Saturday night, and tickets are still available here. And somehow, this is the first time he’s ever played IN Fayetteville, despite so many years of success.
“It’s hard to believe, but yeah it’s been 20 years, and we’ve been celebrating all year,” Turner said. “We decided to celebrate with the fans on the road this year.”
Don Chase celebrated a close appearance Josh had with WKML down at the Robeson County Fairgrounds many years ago. It was at the time the biggest show ever played at the venue.
“It was fun playing those kinds of things back then,” Turner said. “Being new to the business and seeing how it worked and just living my dream.”
Turner is celebrating “Long Black Train” and all the success that came with that, but he hasn’t lost site of the fun it has been.
“It’s been quite the journey, but I’ve had fun along way,” he said. “I’ve lived a lot of life and learned a lot of things, and accomplished a lot of things and endured a lot of things. But it’s been a fun ride.”
