Jelly Roll Proves That ‘Average People’ Can Succeed
Today’s Kick Butt Tip of the Day comes from Country superstar Jason Bradley DeFord. If you don’t recognize that name, you will surely know him by his stage name, Jelly Roll.
In an interview with FOX News, Jelly Roll said that he wants to show people that yes, average people can succeed. “I would think that people look at me, and they see a piece of me in them. And when I have a small victory, now they’re like, That’s one for us.”
I have to tell you, I am impressed with this young man. Coming from a family history of addiction along with mental illness and, let’s just say, some creative ways of making money, Jelly Roll inspires me and many others to keep digging. Never quit. Never give up on your dreams and goals.
How are you not impressed and motivated by a guy who eight years ago was serving a prison sentence and then last year, Jelly Roll was named New Artist of the Year by the Country Music Association. All I can say is WOW. I will also say, amazing!
Speaking of never giving up, actress Viola Davis comes to mind. I don’t believe I knew her name until the WB Network released the TV show “The Help.” Shortly after, Davis was nominated for an Oscar as the Best Actress In A Leading Role. Now, here is the amazing part. As an actress or actor, you are always hoping for the tv or movie role that will lead to your big break. Actress Viola Davis had various support roles in at least 75 movies. At age 46, Viola Davis finally got her big break.
Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.
Go get ’em tiger! God don’t make no junk. You, yes you are awesome! Now go be awesome!
