United Way Over The Edge Program Returning to Downtown Fayetteville This April
Do you have what it takes to go Over the Edge? So much fun was had in 2023. that the United Way of Cumberland County is once again presenting Over the Edge 2024.
Now, what do I mean when I say “Over the Edge?” That would be rappelling Over the Edge of the Cape Fear Valley Medical Arts Building in historic downtown Fayetteville.
For real? Yes! Last year, over 50 brave souls went “Over the Edge” raising money for the United Way of Cumberland County.
The date for Over the Edge will be Saturday. April 13, 2024 at the Medical Arts Building at 101 Robeson Street in downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina. The Medical Arts Building is directly across the street from the Airborne and Special Operations Museum. Let me give a big thank you to the Cape Fear Valley Health System for allowing the United Way access to this facility.
The United Way has set a goal to raise $100,000 this year. Every penny raised will go for local education, health care, basic needs and financial stability for those less fortunate in our Fayetteville and Cumberland County community.
Now you might be wondering, can the United Way safely do a fundraiser by going Over the Edge of a historic building in downtown Fayetteville? The answer is yes. The United Way has partnered with a company that specializes in Over the Edge promotions across the nation. Safety, is their number one concern. In fact, there has never been a major accident or incident during an Over the Edge fundraiser. This event was so much fun in 2023 and I’m betting it will be even more fun on April 13, 2024.
