Cumberland County Schools Providing Students With Unique Career Fair
Let me begin with, a big Beasley Media Fayetteville high-five to the Cumberland County School System. On Friday, February 9, Cumberland County Schools will have a Career Fair for students.
The purpose of this event is to proudly show students the many careers that are available right here in Fayetteville and in Cumberland County.
The Career Fair will be for students who are currently in grades 8 through 12 and will be held in the Crown Expo Center from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Considering that every student in grades 8-12 will be attending the Career Fair, Cumberland County Schools is encouraging anyone who owns a business along with all post-secondary institutions to take advantage of this opportunity and use this event to recruit students into future careers. For students attending this Career Fair, let me encourage you to step out of your comfort zone.Ā Now, what does this mean?Ā This might mean sticking your hand out and meeting someone that you don’t already know.Ā Trust me, I understand how stressful meeting strange people may be.Ā Just do it anyway.Ā Extend your hand, give a firm handshake, give a smile and introduce yourself.Ā You never know where this chance meeting might lead years down the road.Ā Here is a little tip for you.Ā Stand in front of a mirror and practice introducing yourself.Ā Yes, this will feel uncomfortable but I can promise it will help immensely during the Career Fair.
