Caitlin Clark: How to Set Big Goals So You Will Achieve Them
Today’s Kick Butt Tip of the Day comes from women’s college and WNBA basketball star Caitlin Clark and how to set big goals so you will achieve them.
As a fan of Atlantic Coast Conference basketball and especially the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, I found myself fixated with the Big Ten Conference and the women’s basketball program at the University of Iowa. I have to confess, the player that peaked my interest was of course, Caitlin Clark.
Let’s take a look at a few of the records that Caitlin now owns.
-Caitlin scored 30 or more points in more games than any other player male or female in the past 25 years in the Division 1 conference
-She holds the record for the most three pointers in the Big Ten
-During one of her NCAA Championship games, she scored the most points ever in in one quarter of the game
-Even as a Freshman player, Caitlin set a new single game record for the most points and three pointers
One of the few sad moments in Caitlin’s college basketball career was coming up a bit short in the 224 championship game against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Just How Does Catilin Clark Do It
First, Caitlin Clark’s success does not happen by accident. Caitlin begins by simply writing things down. In fact, while in the second grade, Caitlin took out a piece of paper and wrote these words: “Get drafted into the WNBA.” It happened.
Caitlin also sets herself a daily goal of being in the gym and honing her craft. Caitlin says that her plan is to shoot baskets every day. I would also guess that Caitlin possesses the same “eye of the tiger” that Michael Jordan did during his career. No one was going to outwork Michael. Hard work and focus will absolutely pay off.
