Huge Aberdeen Fire Department Spaghetti Plate Sale is This Friday
Our friends at the Aberdeen Volunteer Firefighter Association would like to invite you to their huge Spaghetti Plate Sale this Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Aberdeen Fire Department located at 800 Holly Street in Aberdeen, North Carolina.
Volunteers will serve spaghetti from at 11:00an until 7:00pm. Plates are only $10 each and each plate includes delicious spaghetti along with salad, a roll and it also comes with a dessert.
You can buy your Spaghetti Plate Sale ticket from any member of the Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department or if you prefer, just head over to the fire department this Friday, purchase your food and enjoy. Also, if you would like you can enjoy your spaghetti plate at the fire station.
The Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department would like to say Thank You for helping them raise money. In turn, this money will help serve members of the community.
For those that are not in the fire service, you may be surprised to discover just how expensive it is to provide the equipment for just one firefighter. According to the International Association of Fire Chiefs, each department should budget an average of $9,500 for every fighter on its roster.
Here is a breakdown of items and expenses:
- Firefighter Helmet: $350
- Nomex Hood: $45
- Goggles: $75
- Jacket and Pants: $1800
- Flashlight: $65
- Gloves: $75
- Extraction Gloves: $50
- Boots: $450
- Breathing Apparatus plus 1 Spare Bottle: $6500
The above expenses do not include firefighting equipment like two-way radios, nozzles, axes, pike poles, hydrant wrenches, etc.
