Be Like Ryan Reynolds and Just Work Harder Than Anyone Else
Today’s Kick Butt Tip of the Day comes from actor Ryan Reynolds. “I have a discipline that has served me very well in my career and in my personal life… and that’s gotten stronger as I’ve gotten older. I’ve always felt if I don’t just have a natural knack for it, I will just out-discipline the competition if I have to work harder than anybody else.”
For some, the road to success seems to be paved smoothly. For the rest of, not so much. To get from where we are to where we want to be, we may have to face and conquer some challenges. Fact is, you and I might just have to do what Ryan Reynolds did. We just decide to out-work our competition or coworkers in order to get what we desire.
A while back, I shared a success secret from one of the greatest Los Angeles Lakers basketball stars of all time, Kobe Bryant. Kobe said “at the end of every day, look yourself in the mirror and ask, did I get better today? If the answer is yes, then if do that for five years or ten years or fifteen years, how much better are you going to be? Are you getting better every single day? That is the question.”
If Kobe were still around, I bet he would agree that the getting started is the most difficult step to take. Most people have that little voice inside that says, oh just relax. You can get started tomorrow. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow? Or the voice says, what if you fail, they all will laugh at you. Pour a glass of water and drown that voice of defeat and take action today. Then do the same tomorrow and take action the day after that.
Go get ’em tiger! God don’t make no junk. You, yes you are awesome! Now go be awesome!
