Kick Butt Tip: Dana White – Dig Your Heels In And Fight
Today’s Kick Butt Tip of the Day comes from Dana White. White is the Chief Executive Officer and President of the UFC the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
White said “we all have a choice. You can do two things. You can run and hide and curl up in a ball and let the world beat you to death or you can dig your heels in and you can fight. I had a quote installed on my wall. The quote says “May God have mercy upon my enemies because I won’t.”
Have you ever heard the story about Michael Jordan who was actually cut from his tenth grade high school basketball team? We both know how that story turned out. Michael grew a few inches, kept working on his game, made the Junior/Varsity team the next year, then became a UNC Tar Heel, a Chicago Bull and today is considered by many to be the greatest NBA player of all time.
A couple of weeks ago, I shared the story of Walt Disney and how he was fired because he “lacked imagination.” On top of that, Disney had to deal with a number of financial issues and eventually had to file for bankruptcy. If that wasn’t enough, Anaheim, California initially kicked sand at Disney’s proposal to build Disneyland. Those in charge of the city were concerned that the theme park would attract the wrong type of people.
Thank goodness both Michael Jordan and Walt Disney dug in their heels and never gave up on their dreams and goals.
Please share your very own stories of when you refused to quit and because of that decision, now enjoy the sweet smell of success. Email me at [email protected]. Thank you!
Go get ’em tiger! God don’t make no junk. You, yes you are awesome! Now go be awesome!
